THE INTENTION
BEHIND THE ART
TIKA STUDIOS
On Image-Making
“Every image is a considered act. A deliberate claim about how the world looks, feels, and who belongs in it."
Through intuition and a systemic approach, I guide brands toward a visual direction that feels true; culturally, emotionally, and narratively. The process is less about capturing and more about cultivating.
TIKA resists trend-chasing in favor of building worlds while guiding vision until ideas fully resolve into something worth being seen. Editorial by nature. Systemic by approach.
THE WORK BELIEVES
Every image is a considered act.
Composition is intention.
Culture is not a trend.
Beauty has no single form.
Stillness can be radical.
The right eye changes everything.
THE PROCESS
01CONCEPT
Every project begins with a question. What world are we building? What feeling needs to exist that doesn't yet?
02DIRECTION
Intuition meets structure. Visual systems are built to hold the idea — color, light, composition, narrative all working together.
03RESOLUTION
Ideas are allowed to fully resolve. Nothing ships until it feels inevitable — true to the brief and truer to the vision.
ABOUT JESS
Jess is a San Diego-based Art Director, Creative Director, and Editorial Photographer with close to a decade of experience building visual systems for brands and campaigns.
When not directing, she is painting, exploring the same questions of color, light, and feeling through acrylic on canvas. She tends a garden, moves her body, and finds stillness in the spaces between making.
She believes the work and the life are not separate. Both are about cultivating something worth being seen.
